How do they work?

At the checkout stage of a retail website, you are often asked if you have a promotional code. This will often get you a fixed percentage off the price, or free P&P. By entering it before you checkout, you can make significant savings online.

Where do I find these codes?

There’s lots of websites that no specialise in offering discount codes, for example:

• www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk
• www.SendMeDiscounts.co.uk
• www.VoucherCodes.co.uk
• www.MoneySavingExpert.com (type in “discount codes” into the forums)
  

Alternatively, shop normally online, but then make sure that when you’re at the checkout, you check Google for a code that is still valid for that product. It can be time-consuming, but the discounts can be substantial – in June we found one that offered £500 off a £2,000 plasma Sharpe TV !
